Been spending way too much time trying to get Hulu+ to run on my tablet.  There’s an app on my phone that works fine, but for tablets?  Lots of steps to get it to work.

And then I realized that between Netflix (which I did get to work by adding the app on my tablet) and Amazon Prime Instant Video (which works brilliantly on the browser), why do I need to get Hulu+ to work?

Because I can.  Full instructions from fellow Android enthusiasts are online.

But as the old adage goes, just because you can do a thing doesn’t mean you should.

Hulu+ doesn’t really have anything that I can’t watch on the other two services, especially since they no longer seem to show USA Network episodes until about a month after it appears on TV.

Besides, I can watch all three on my Roku at home, Netflix and Amazon Instant have stuff that I would want to watch elsewhere.


Midweek Recap

Let’s see…

Monday: Family came over before Rob, Annie and Zack went back to the East Coast.  We determined that the fridge is is need of replacement, so after a late night online shopping excursion, Dad and I picked one to be delivered next Monday.

Tuesday: Continued to use tablet without the silicon cover, and it feels better.  Dad packed up the car to leave on Wednesday.

Wednesday: Determined that this is a slow ass week.  Watched USA and Mexico play to a tie in soccer.

Tonight I also discovered that Sony has merged all the servers together in DC Universe Online!  As a result, two of my heroes had ‘_BNW’ appended to the end of their names (the name of their original server was Brave New World), due to a naming conflict with other users who have been playing longer that I have, so they got to keep the name.

The heroes that were renamed:

Hyperman = Hyperman Prime (so named to designate that he’s from Earth-Prime.  Look it up.)
Hooters Girl (DAMMIT!!) = Hooters Gal (was actually surprised THAT name was available)

All existing toons received an emblem representing their original server, and can chose to wear the emblem on their chests.

Am I worried about the San Francisco Giants?  No.  They’re still in a better position than they were a year ago, and August was their worst month in 2010.

Ebb and flow, as my brother explained to me when I was little.  Teams get hot and cold throughout a season.  I’d rather this team get hot later rather than now.


Fonts

I discovered that I could change the default font on my tablet.

I had changed it to a font that was similar to Comc Sans MS, and after reading Facebook and Google+ in that format, I decided to go with Helv Neue S, a Helvetica lookalike.
