I’m still in disbelief, even though I predicted it 3 years ago.
Today is the 24th anniversary of the last time one of my baseball teams won a World Series championship.
And on this day begins the latest Fall Classic, with the team that I was first exposed to as a child, team of my parents and grandparents and siblings and aunts and uncles.
The San Francisco Giants are in the World Series. I saw it happen. They just replayed the final out on MLB Network, and I wonder if Ryan Howard is still standing at home plate, with the same kind of disbelief that I felt, but not as positive.
On TV I’m watching the MLB Network crew on the field of AT&T Park, analyzing the starting lineups of the Texas Rangers and the Giants.
It’s almost a month after the end of the regular season, and my hometown team is still playing ball.
And I’m sitting here, blogging about it, with a goofy grin on my face.
Let’s Go Giants! Don’t Stop Believing!
