Late Saturday Thoughts

Still can’t believe it, even though I called it, as far back as 2007.  The Giants are going to the World Series.

I just laughed in disbelief, shaking my head, as I read what I had just typed.

Like Glenn said when we spoke after tonight’s game, NO ONE thought they’d be the National League Champs after watching Todd Wellemeyer pitch and lose in the 2010 home opener back in April.

To be totally honest, even by the All-Star break, I didn’t think the Giants would be in the postseason.  The battle in the Eastern division looked to be where the wildcard would come from (which it did), and the San Diego Padres had such a huge lead in the West.

One long losing streak later and the Padres surrendered the lead to the Giants.  Even the Rockies started making noise, but they quickly faded.

Then came the last series of the regular season, against those very same Padres.  And it came down to winning on the final day of the season to get to the Division Series.

The Braves fell in the NLDS.  Then the Phillies fell in the NLCS.

And here we are.  4 wins away from a championship.  With the following prediction:

Giants over Rangers in 6 games.

Wednesday night

OMG OMG OMG I’M GOING TO THE GIANTS GAME TOMORROW!!!  ONE MORE GAME TO THE WORLD SERIES!!!

In other news: I got a delivery tag in the mail, a package will be waiting for me tomorrow at the post office.

Could it be?

Stay tuned!

edit: it’s actually the T-Visor piece for the helmet (ordered elsewhere), not the helmet itself, according to tracking.  *grumble*

Monday

No, really, did you actually think the Giants would take both games in Philladelphia?

Pet peeve of the day: people who stand in front of the exit on a bus, when there are seats available, and give you the stink eye when you move to get off and say ‘excuse me’ to get past them.

GTFO OF THE WAY, YA MORON!!  SIT YOUR ASS DOWN IN A SEAT IF YOU’RE NOT GETTING OFF BEFORE ME OR THE OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE TO GET BY YOU!

Thanks to Glenn, I guess I was wrong about last month being my last trip to AT&T Park this season.
