1959: Giants Replay

Oh, who am I kidding?  The 1959 replay will focus primarily on the 2nd season of baseball in San Francisco.

One difference will be the addition of a random game here and there between teams of which neither are the Giants.

I may start doing that in my other replays as well, while maintaining focus on the Giants (or the Mets, if I ever restart the 1986 or 1988 replays).

Not sure how I’ll decide which other teams to play, but I may try to dip into the American League more than the National League for these random games.

Another Side Project?

But aren’t they all?

Inspired by Mike Yastrzemski’s visit to Fenway Park, and his reunion with this grandpa, Carl, I think I may do a 1967 Red Sox replay.

I have so many 1967 sets to choose from, after all.  But it’ll probably be Ball Park Baseball.  On second thought, I think I’ll use one of the other game systems, but I’m not sure which one yet.

I wanna see if I can get Yaz to win the Triple Crown.

1984: Dwight Gooden, Game 29

September 12, 1984: Pirates vs. Mets @ Shea Stadium

Final from Shea Stadium:

Main highlight of the game was an inside-the-park home run by Lee Lacy.  I don’t think I’ve had that happen before in any of my table top games.

No decision for Gooden in the Mets’ win.  Record stays at 19-2 (actual record: 16-8)

Next opponent: Gooden vs Rawley @ Veteran’s Stadium

1984

I’m gonna try my best to finish this Gooden rookie season replay this weekend.

Truth be told, while I enjoy playing these games in general, I miss playing Ball Park Baseball.  And I vowed to not to bounce around game systems unless I finish these smaller projects (less than 40 games).

So after I finish this one, it’s back to 1917 and 1967 for a while, and then I continue the John D’Acquisto rookie season replay.

Stay tuned!
