We seem to have reached the age where life stops giving us things and starts taking them away.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

With the passing of each of my childhood idols, so too does a bit of that childhood dies.<\/p>\n

The main reason that I decided to attend Silicon Valley Comic Con 2017 was beause they announced Adam West and Burt Ward as guests. \u00a0I couldn’t pass up the chance to meet these two in person. \u00a0the 1966 Batman movie is, to me, the best of the Batman films, even the newer ones by Nolan and Snyder, and the ones from the 1980s-90s.<\/p>\n

Because they were more in line with what comic book movie heroes should be, IMHO.<\/p>\n

The actual meeting was very impersonal. \u00a0I said that I was honored to meet them, but they hardly looked at me, just posing for the camera as they took direction from the con staff, as they did with all the fans before and after me. \u00a0It was a tad disappointing. \u00a0But at least I got a photo taken with them.<\/p>\n

Years ago, however, Glenn and I attended a Creation Con (I think) in San Francisco (I think) and attended a panel with Adam West. \u00a0It was just him, telling tales of his life and times as the Caped Crusader. \u00a0The one story I remember was of him and Van Williams (The Green Hornet) going hunting, which they did a lot) and the look on peoples faces when they saw Batman and the Green Hornet (or Bruce Wayne and Britt Reid) emerge from the woods with rifles.<\/p>\n

Rest in Peace, Mr. West. \u00a0Thank you for all you did for your fans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
