I’d been waiting all month for the opportunity to upgrade my phone. \u00a0My lease was up at the end of the month, and I was waiting for them to tell me that I could upgrade without paying off the rest of the lease on the phone.<\/p>\n

Which finally was today.<\/p>\n

I went online and ordered a Samsung Galaxy S8+, and I found that I could pick up the phone at a local store, which for me was just up the street from the office.<\/p>\n

I placed my order and waited for my order confirmation email, telling me that the phone was ready for pick up. \u00a0I didn’t have to wait long, so I took the short walk to the Sprint Store.<\/p>\n

When I got there, they were a bit unprepared for my pickup. \u00a0So much so that I actually had to go away for about 20 minutes as the order caught up to my account.<\/p>\n

So I went to the newly opened Ike’s Sandwiches on Polk, where I ordered a Madison Bumgarner sandwich:<\/p>\n

I scarfed down the sandwich (I had nothing for lunch) and 30 minutes late I went back to the Sprint Stone and picked up the phone.<\/p>\n

This thing is massive.<\/p>\n

It doesn’t look that massive in the picture, but yeah, it’s HUGE!<\/p>\n

I’m going to have to find a new belt case for this thing.<\/p>\n

I had no problems transferring settings from the old phone to the new one; it even set up my apps and wallpapers exactly as they were on the old phone. \u00a0I should go through and delete apps that I no longer use, though.<\/p>\n

The other gadget that arrived today was the Amazon Echo Show, their new Echo model with a built in screen.<\/p>\n

Having set up 3 of these things, there were no issues setting up the new unit.<\/p>\n

It took a few minutes to update itself, once I connected to my home wifi.<\/p>\n
