{"id":3116,"date":"2018-06-10T07:12:11","date_gmt":"2018-06-10T14:12:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/?p=3116"},"modified":"2018-06-10T07:12:11","modified_gmt":"2018-06-10T14:12:11","slug":"why-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/why-now\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Now?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The cord has been cut.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday I went ahead and cancelled my Xfinity\/Comcast account.<\/p>\n<p>For years they were reaming me with a monthly charge well over what a sane person would pay for JUST CABLE TV.<\/p>\n<p>My last bill was over $200.\u00a0 For just cable TV.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve had a separate service for phone and internet (currently Sonic) forever, and was not interested in their combined packages, with data caps.<\/p>\n<p>The only reason I held on to cable TV for so long?<\/p>\n<p>Dad kept his TV in his bedroom on some religious cable channel all day, even when he wasn&#8217;t home.\u00a0 He may have turned it off when he went to sleep.\u00a0 Sometimes I heard it through his door when I got up in the morning to get ready for work.<\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t want to take that away from him.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure if that same channel was available on the cable packages through AT&amp;T or Sonic, or even over the air.<\/p>\n<p>So yeah.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s weird seeing the empty spaces near the TVs, where a DVR box used to sit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The cord has been cut.
