If you’ve read DC Comics in the past 26 years, you’re aware of the Death of Superman storyline.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

It’s a classic.\u00a0 One of my favorite stories to pick up and read over again.<\/p>\n

It was one of the few times that I cried over a comic book story.<\/p>\n

Yeah, they killed Superman.\u00a0 But you knew he’d be back.\u00a0 It just took over a year for him to return in the comics.<\/p>\n

This year, DC\/WB Animation came out with an adaptation of this story, and it’s far better than I expected.<\/p>\n

For starters, as much as I like the Justice League from that era, with Blue Beetle and Booster Gold and Guy Gardner, this movie had what I consider the REAL Justice League.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

They also added dialogue directly from the comic, AND from other sources, namely, Superman: The Movie.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And even though I know how this story ends, and what’s to come, it hit me with the same impact as the original comic, and made me cry, again.<\/p>\n

It’s entirely possible that I’m still an emotional mess since my Dad passed away, and this movie is another outlet for me to grieve.<\/p>\n

Especially since I once thought that my Dad was Superman.<\/p>\n

He had the same glasses as Clark Kent, so at age 5 I put two and two together, y’see.<\/p>\n

I can’t recommend this movie enough.\u00a0 4 stars out of 4 for me.<\/p>\n

And watch through the credits for hints of what comes next.<\/p>\n
