sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While my first action figure that I can remember getting was a Mego Superman, that one disappeared at some point shortly after I got him, sometime in 1973.<\/p>\n<p>A couple of years before I got a Six Million Dollar Man\u00a0 action figure, I got one of these, which I believe I picked up at a flea market.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" 218w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Action Jackson!<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/m8gQKZmtAfM\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>He was Mego Corporation&#8217;s answer to the Hasbro&#8217;s GI Joe Adventure Team and Mattel&#8217;s Big Jim.\u00a0 Except smaller.\u00a0 He was 8 inches tall, like the rest of Mego&#8217;s line of action figures.<\/p>\n<p>For the record, I also had a Big Jim at some point.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t think I called him anything other than Action Jackson.\u00a0 He went everywhere with me when I was 7-8 years old.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3461\" src=\"http:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/batmanlce.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"795\" (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Around the same time that I got Action Jackson, this oversized comic came out.\u00a0 Inside there was a page featuring Batman&#8217;s utility belt, and what appeared to be a full sized drawing of a batarang.<\/p>\n<p>I traced the batarang, cut out a template, drew the batarang on heavy cardboard, attached some string, and I had my own batarang.\u00a0 When I wasn&#8217;t using it as a batarang, I strapped it onto the back of Action Jackson, so he could fly.<\/p>\n<p>And then that figure disappeared.<\/p>\n<p>Flash forward to the year 2000, whena company named Playing Mantis came out with a new version of the classic Action Jackson.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3462\" src=\"http:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/actionjackson2000-921x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"584\" srcset=\"https:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/actionjackson2000-921x1024.jpg 921w, https:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/actionjackson2000-270x300.jpg 270w, https:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/actionjackson2000-768x854.jpg 768w, https:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/actionjackson2000.jpg 1100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I picked up this one, and possibly another, both of which are in storage, somewhere.<\/p>\n<p>This year one of the original Presidents of Mego Corporation launched a limited edition of some of their products, directly to Target.<\/p>\n<p>Among them is Action Jackson.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3463\" srcset=\"https:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/actionjackson2018.jpg 488w, https:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/actionjackson2018-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/actionjackson2018-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/actionjackson2018-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 488px) 100vw, 488px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As you can see, he is very close to the look of the original Mego figure.\u00a0 Moreso than the 2000 PM edition.<\/p>\n<p>I couldn&#8217;t
