{"id":4508,"date":"2021-03-31T11:43:10","date_gmt":"2021-03-31T18:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/?p=4508"},"modified":"2021-03-31T11:43:10","modified_gmt":"2021-03-31T18:43:10","slug":"godzilla-vs-kong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/godzilla-vs-kong\/","title":{"rendered":"Godzilla vs. Kong"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/godzilla_vs_kong_ver12_xlg.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4510 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/godzilla_vs_kong_ver12_xlg.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"888\" srcset=\"https:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/godzilla_vs_kong_ver12_xlg.jpg 599w, https:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/godzilla_vs_kong_ver12_xlg-202x300.jpg 202w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I think I teared up about half a dozen times, I was so happy with this film.\u00a0 I clapped.\u00a0 I silently cheered in the early morning as I watched this on HBOMax.<\/p>\n<p>They did something that the other two Godzilla films didn&#8217;t do, and that was show, not tell.\u00a0 There was exposition, but a lot of stuff that they could have had in long, wordy scenes, they didn&#8217;t.\u00a0 Hell, there was a line that more or less jokingly addressed that.<\/p>\n<p>The monsters fought.\u00a0 \u00a0That&#8217;s all I ask for.\u00a0 They fought.\u00a0 \u00a0And they fought well.<\/p>\n<p>The people scenes were less than before, probably why the movie came in at a tad under 2 hours in length.<\/p>\n<p>None of the humans were in the movie long enough to be annoying, even the ones who would have been under other circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>Every character had an appropriate resolution by the end of the film.\u00a0 Heh.<\/p>\n<p>The movie is definitely in my top 10 Godzilla films, maybe even my top 5.<\/p>\n<p>It ranks just below <em>Kong: Skull Island<\/em> in my Monarch\/Monsterverse list.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I think I teared up about half a dozen times, I was so happy with this film.\u00a0 I clapped.\u00a0 I silently cheered in the early morning as I watched this on HBOMax.
