{"id":4763,"date":"2022-12-02T12:50:11","date_gmt":"2022-12-02T20:50:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/?p=4763"},"modified":"2022-12-02T12:50:11","modified_gmt":"2022-12-02T20:50:11","slug":"music-and-memory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/music-and-memory\/","title":{"rendered":"Music and Memory"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was watching the opening of <em>Raiders of the Lost Ark<\/em> during lunch,<\/p>\n<p>I still remember when I first heard the Raiders March during this scene.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border-radius: 12px;\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/track\/7faT44UZIC2QbQtajjdqUr?utm_source=generator\" width=\"100%\" height=\"352\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The horn section hit me harder than the opening note of <em>Star Wars<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>It was at that moment that I knew, this character would have a bigger impact on me than Han Solo or Mr. Spock or Steve Austin or Underdog ever would.<\/p>\n<p>Those were my other childhood heroes, of course.<\/p>\n<p>It cemented John Williams as the one true composer of the background music in my life, between this, <em>Star Wars<\/em> and <em>Superman: The Movie<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Years later, hearing it performed live at the SF Symphony, conducted by John freaking Williams himself, was no doubt the greatest live musical piece I had ever heard.<\/p>\n<p>I look forward to hearing this theme next June.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was watching the opening of Raiders of the Lost Ark during lunch, I still remember when I first heard the Raiders March during this scene.
