<\/p>\nSo while I took a break from working on Batman Miniature Game stuff, another game caught my attention, again.<\/p>\n
I have a love-hate relationship with Warhammer 40K. \u00a0I love the setting, the miniatures, the game. \u00a0I hate that a new rules set comes out way too often. \u00a0In the last 15 years or so we’ve had 4 revisions to the rules in the form of a new hardcover rulebook.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
When Kill Team came out last year, I thought it was a good intro for folks who were interested in 40K but didn’t want to invest in a large army. \u00a0Skirmish games appear to be the way to go (see: Batman Miniatures Game), since you only need a handful of miniatures instead of a hoard of them.<\/p>\n
Waaagh.<\/p>\n
But I digress.<\/p>\n

This past weekend saw the release of Shadow War: Armageddon, a big box game from Games Workshop. \u00a0At first glance it appears to be another game in the Warhammer 40K universe, but\u00a0a closer look reveals that it’s actually a reimaging\/reboot of their Necromunda game, which I have in my Games Workshop collection as well. \u00a0And like many of those games, it remains unplayed.<\/p>\n
The main difference is that instead of gangs from the planet Necromunda (which was the original homeworld of my Imperial Guard army), the 40K Kill Teams are used.<\/p>\n
The game itself sold out immediately, and Games Workshop scrambled to produce a new rulebook-only product, which will be available for preorder on April 22nd.<\/p>\n
Which brings me to this dilemma: \u00a0I’m building a Militarium Tempestus (old name: Stormtroopers\/Kasrkrin) Kill Team that will become a regular army (or detachment from my main Imperial Guard force).![\"\"](\"http:\/\/saguisag.com\/blogv4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/MilitarumTempestus.jpg\")

What color scheme do I use for these guys, who have been sitting on my shelf for the past few months?<\/p>\n

I was thinking of the Scarif troopers from Rogue One<\/em>, but that’s too light for what basically is a SpecOps team. \u00a0They look cool, though.<\/p>\n I may go for a dark grey or blue.<\/p>\n I’m also trying to figure out a unit\/regiment name, the 67th…. something or other, probably [40K planet name] Peregrines. \u00a0I don’t want to use Cadia\/Cadians again.<\/p>\n Anyways, suggestions are welcome.<\/p>\n By the time I get my hands on the rulebook, I’ll be back doing Batman Miniatures stuff. \u00a0My group will probably do basic Kill Team before moving on to SW Armageddon.<\/p>\n So little time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" So while I took a break from working on Batman Miniature Game stuff, another game caught my attention, again.
