While trying out the new lens last night, I discovered a problem with the zoom lens.<\/p>\n
It was making a whirring\/clicking sound, and while it looked like it was focusing, it would not allow the camera shutter to work.<\/p>\n
I couldn’t take any pictures with the zoom lens.<\/p>\n
A quick Google search suggested that the issue was with some internal problem with the lens and that I should get it serviced.<\/p>\n
And after checking on the Canon site I discovered that the lens was out of warranty and not serviceable.<\/p>\n
Arrgh.<\/p>\n
So at the moment I’m zoom-lens-less.\u00a0 I guess that means I’ll be using the macros more.\u00a0 Ah well.<\/p>\n
It’s not like I was using the zoom most of the time anyways, only at ballgames and comic cons and occasionally trying to get a shot of the moon.<\/p>\n
