Sample battle to see if I understand the rules.
I started with the core box ships on each side.
Nebulon-B and Corvette, along with 4 X-Wing Squadrons.
Victory-class star destroyer and 6 TIE squadrons.
Then I decided to add a YT-1300 freighter on the Rebel side. Not the Falcon.
Two rounds later, TIEs destroyed an X-Wing squadron, while another X-Wing Squadron and the freighter each destroyed a TIE squadron.
One TIE Squadron snuck past the Rebel ships.
As the capital ships exchanged fire, the freighter positioned itself for a suicide attack!
All but one TIE squadron was destroyed, along with two X-wing squadrons, but the damaged Nebulon-B managed to take out the star destroyer.
This is a VERY quick game, if I was playing correctly. I manage to maneuver the Nebulon-B into a position where it could fire from the forward and starboard arcs, into the forward shields of the star destroyer.
Had the star destroyer survived the last attack, it probably would have destroyed the Nebulon-B.
By next week I should have more variety for squadrons (A-wings, B-wings, Y-wings; TIE Advanced, Bomber, Interceptor) along with an Imperial-class star destroyer, and a Mon Calamari MC-75, which I’ve already named the Sword of Jedha.
