There’s just too many miniatures out there. Period.
Though I did buy a few. As I do. But believe me when I say that after my first expansion choice, it took me a couple of days to decide to actually get others, and then decide which ones.
You can play with the core set as is, I just wanted a little variety. Plus, painting miniatures is fun.
I picked up Hulk because what is a Marvel table top miniatures game without the Hulk? I want him throwing cars and stuff around the battlefield.
A day later I figured that I should get a villain to even out the ‘teams’.
The Kingpin seemed the most appropriate, to me.
Then I picked out a couple of favorites.
This one made sense because besides the popularity characters, they keep the teams even. Plus, I had a $25 gift card from Amazon, and this one was $24.95, so I just paid the sales tax.
And this is my favorite Avenger and one of the main characters from my favorite MCU film.
There are squad affiliations in the game, and so far the minis I have fit into either the Avengers (heroes) or the Cabal (villains) groups, except for the unaffiliated Winter Soldier. Squads basically get bonuses on certain tactics cards.
Not sure if I want to get any more at this point. Don’t really need to, I suppose, unless I want to paint more of them.
I don’t want a repeat of Batman Miniatures Game. So. Many. Unpainted. Miniatures.
Now I’m just making 3D printed terrain for this game.
