I added a navigator and a communications officer.
I am not going to attempt to generate another AI portrait.
I also realized that I have a blind Security Chief. That should be interesting.

After Action Reports from The Front
While watching more tutorials for Captain’s Log, I was able to review my original first mission (which may become the second mission) and came up with a bunch of crew members as NPCs.
Interesting that Illyrians are listed as Enterprise-era species, which I suppose makes sense, given Strange New Worlds takes place before The Original Series-era.
And I’m considering the original mission as the second mission because I’m going to take a suggestion from a couple of Solo RPG tutorial videos, and start In Media Res, a time honored story telling method used in so many of my favorite movies (Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai).
In medias res is a Latin phrase that means “in the middle of things”. It’s a literary device used to describe a narrative that begins in the middle of the plot, rather than at the beginning.
I tried using CoPilot to create a crew photo, but I can’t get it to use the Enterprise-era uniforms.
These were the best two.
The AI apparently doesn’t know what an Andorian, Aenar or Denobulan looks like.

With some suggestions from Nelson, I’ve managed to start off on my first trek into the Mythic Game Master Emulator.
He first suggested rolling a die to determine what system to use, but I decided to start with the system that I’m most familiar with, D&D 5th Edition.
But what character should I use?
Nelson then suggested rolling a die for that choice, so I assigned a number to ten level 1 characters that I had created in D&D Beyond, and rolled a 3.
BEHOLD, YOUR NEW HERO!
Raised By Minotaurs, level 1 human Barbarian.
This one will be interesting to play from his description.
My initial adventure description rolls were “attain’ and ‘information’, so I’m gonna go with RBM entering town, looking for a job as a monster hunter.

System: Star Trek Adventures Captain’s Log
This campaign is planned to take place around the 4th season of Star Trek Enterprise, or mid-2154.
Additional campaigns may begin as I get comfortable with this system, with settings during TOS, TNG, and perhaps Lower Decks.

System: Dragonbane
This one was a tough choice because of the numerous fantasy RPG settings that are available to play.
It was a Kickstarter, so that kinda played into my decision.
In the end, it’s the simple fact that I can play a duck (Mallard) character in this system that made me decided on this one.

System: Covert Ops
This one is still early in the planning stages. Either an agent or team of agents, rookies or experienced, doing spy stuff.
I’m still not sure if I’m placing the setting in the 1960s, the 1980s, or present day.
And this will probably be the first time that I role play Jake Banner, a character I’ve had rattling around my brain since I was in high school.
