To-Do List

A bunch of games came in recently, and I really want to play all of them as soon as possible.

But that’s not happening.

Links for the current bunch of games that came in:

Right now I’m focusing my time and energy on Core Space, reading the rule book, priming and painting the miniatures, and watching YouTube tutorials on how to play.

We’ll see if I can get a scenario in this weekend.

Update: Games

I’ve decided that I want to play skirmish-level tabletop miniatures games.

So that decision has me disposing of my Warhammer 40K armies.

As of this post I’m awaiting a quote from an online company that buys used/secondhand miniatures/models.  Depending on what they offer, they’ll be shipped off or possibly donated/trashed.

I’ll still have a few Kill Team squads, plus Necromunda gangs and Blood Bowl teams, until I decide whether or not I want to still play those games.

World War Tesla sparked (heh) an interest in not only alternate history wargaming, but historical wargaming as well.

I’ll cover that in another post.

World War Tesla

Found an interesting game a couple of weeks back, an alternate history wargame with 3D printable playing pieces.

World War Tesla™ is an alternate-history wargame by James M. Ward (author of TSR’s Gamma World, Deities & Demigods, and Metamorphosis Alpha) and Thomas A. Tullis, where Nikola Tesla’s more radical ideas such as death rays and force fields have come to fruition, changing the face of a world at war. Giant walking tanks, soldiers with rocket-packs, and flying machines armed with death rays rule the battlefield!

I decided to print a couple of both army’s units:

Star Wars Legion

Yeah, didn’t think I’d ever jump into this one either.  But I like to paint miniatures, and these have some nice models in the core box.

I don’t intend to get a lot of expansions, the only ones so far are Boba Fett and Rebel Commandos, the former for obvious reasons, the latter because I like the idea of playing with a Rebel Commando strike team.

And apparently I already have a piece of terrain that was designed for this game, the Hunter’s Ship.

Along with .STL files for a landing bay, like on Tatooine.

Maybe I can have a sabotage mission to destroy a prototype TIE fighter…

But yeah, we’ll see if I get around to playing, like I haven’t yet with so many other games.

Catching Up

Five Parsecs From Home: I really need to get back into this one, the crew has yet to make planetfall on a new world.  They had just escaped from a world that was undergoing a planetary invasion.

Stargrave: I’m probably not going to play this one anytime soon because it’s similarity to Five Parsecs From Home, and it’s more geared toward 2 players.

Marvel Crisis Protocol: Haven’t finished going over the rules, but at least I stopped printing/buying terrain.

Fire Team: newly released baby brother to the newest Kill Team release (huh?).  It’s like how Blitz Bowl was for Blood Bowl, an ‘entry level’ self contained game.

Kill Team: the latest flavor of the month, rules have been read, miniatures painted, terrain prepped.  Just need to find time to set up and play, which is not going to be soon because…

Battletech: Clan Invasion Kickstarter pledge is waiting to be picked up.  That oughta keep me distracted for the next few days/weeks.

Black Ops: Need to do some painting: Russian soldiers, insurgents, and my own Black Ops team that I’m basing off The Unit TV show.  Which means I gotta come up with some cool call signs for my 5-man team.

Gaslands Refueled: I have lots of slightly modified matchbox cars, plus templates and tokens, waiting to be played with.

Necromunda: all the above games have been keeping me busy with no time to delve back into this one, as much as I would love to do so.

And this list doesn’t even include the tabletop sports games that I’ve been neglecting.
