Remember that 2017 Giants Spring Training cap that I wanted to order last February, but they ran out in my size?

I managed to find a site that have them in 7-5/8.
So I ordered it, with free shipping.
Yay!

One of the coolest G.I. Joe accessories that I recall from childhood is the Turbo Copter. Basically it was a one-man helicopter backpack.

Recently a Brazilian company reissued the Turbo Copter (as Turboćoptero) along with a figure.

I was very close to ordering that set, until Cotswold parted out the set, with the backpack selling separately.

I had an idea for something more than a basic Adventure Team figure to go with this: why not a Cybernetic Explorer?
Behold! Continue reading “Turbo Copter”

While my first action figure that I can remember getting was a Mego Superman, that one disappeared at some point shortly after I got him, sometime in 1973.
A couple of years before I got a Six Million Dollar Man action figure, I got one of these, which I believe I picked up at a flea market.

Action Jackson! Continue reading “Bold adventure is his game!”
It’s still surreal to me, seeing #25 as a retired number among the other Giants legends.
Here’s a photo dump of the pictures I took.

One of my favorite video games is Red Dead Redemption.
You play a cowboy. Enough said.
I had fun playing this one, even though I never did finish it.
This morning Rockstar Games released the first gameplay video/trailer for the sequel to the game, and I immediately pre-ordered it.
I decided to forgo the physical box and other goodies for the digital edition.

As much as I like steelboxes, I really don’t need that or the map that’s offered with the Ultimate Edition.
If you’re going to be playing on the XBox One, I’ll see you in game.
If you’ve read DC Comics in the past 26 years, you’re aware of the Death of Superman storyline.

It’s a classic. One of my favorite stories to pick up and read over again.
It was one of the few times that I cried over a comic book story.
Yeah, they killed Superman. But you knew he’d be back. It just took over a year for him to return in the comics.
This year, DC/WB Animation came out with an adaptation of this story, and it’s far better than I expected.

Mental Health Day!
Woke up feeling bleh.
Went out to get something to eat later in the morning.
My travels brought me to the Disney Store at Serramonte.
There were a couple of displays of Winnie the Pooh stuff, but I didn’t see any Christopher Robin movie related merchandise.
Until I saw this.

There was talk of the new Real ID at work today, and I decided to check my driver’s licence.
It expires next year.
So I looked up what was needed for a Real ID.
Since I don’t have a valid passport or my original birth certificate, I decided to check online how to get a valid copy of my birth certificate.
I could either walk across the street to the county clerk’s office, or be lazy and order on online.
I decided to be lazy. Which then cost me more time than necessary.
After filling out the request form and paying the fee, I then had to print out another document and have it notarized and then get a digital (scanned or camera phone) copy sent to the clerk’s office.
It took a couple of trips to the notary public office up the street to get that part done. They didn’t take credit cards, so I had to run down to the ATM to get cash.
All told, I could have had an actual copy in my hands if I had just walked across the street to the county clerk’s office.
Ah well.

When you pair Obi-Wan Kenobi and Peggy Carter together in a movie, along with Mycroft Holmes and a bunch of beloved stuffed animals, you know I’ll come a-runnin’.
Christopher Robin is the first movie in a long time that had me laughing and crying equally, sometimes at the same time.
I couldn’t relate to the title character because let’s face it, I’m still a kid at heart.
But to watch him interact with some of my best friends from childhood (at some point after Kindergarten, we had the whole gang from the 100 Acre Woods) just made me smile with tears of joy, though there were a few moments of real sadness.
The voice acting was great, it was a pleasure to hear Peter Capaldi as Rabbit.
And two songs that I had hoped would make it into the movie, did. One is obvious, about a certain bouncing animal, the other almost made me jump out of my seat from pure surprise and happiness.
I highly recommend seeing it. Go now!
