October 13, 1967: premiere date of Star Trek episode ‘The Apple’.

The crew of the Enterprise visits a mysterious and deadly paradise planet which they discover is controlled by a machine called Vaal.

This episode ties a record for the number of red shirt deaths in a Star Trek episode (4, same number as in ‘Obsession’).

Blade Runner 2049

It’s long.

It’s visually stunning.

It’s not a whiz-bang shoot-em up popcorn movie.

It’s a worthy sequel to the original.

I’m still processing it.

If you liked the original, you should like this one.

It took me a while to figure out how much I loved the original film.

It may take that much time for me to fully process and appreciate this one.
