Marleau

I’ve been calling for his trade or release for years.

Now that it’s happened, I’m a bit sad.

He’s been a part of the San Jose Sharks for the past 19 seasons, so it’s like watching a chunk of my own past leaving.

During those years, I was a huge fan, attending games, following them in their playoff runs, and until that 3-0 blown lead debacle in 2014, I would support them 100%.

Maybe 95%.

Anyways, good luck, Patrick Marleau, and thanks for all you did in San Jose.

*waits for Leafs #12 Marleau jersey to go on sale*

Baseball 2017

Giants suck.

So do the Mets, but not as bad as the Giants, which is why they swept this weekend.

So when do the Giants hit rock bottom?  All-Star break?

Blogging in Bed: Randomness

I’m about to nod off, because I’m too tired to watch Kong: Skull Island right now.

—

I still watch baseball, but it becomes painful to watch when your team is bad.

People are making such a big deal about Godzilla fighting Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidrah in his next  movie, LIKE THAT’S NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE.

Too many games to play.

I seem to be adjusting to the progressives well enough.

Parade and Stuff

I only got to watch part of the first hour of the Warriors’ parade.

It was cool to see that one truck where Barry Bonds, Dance Cam Mom, and Toaster Guy were riding in the back.

I saw a few clips of the celebration at the end.

And I found my KD MVP shirt.

KD

My first exposure to Kevin Durant:

I said, “Okay, I’m gonna root for this guy.”

So I bought his McFarlane figure.  Watched him lose in the 2012 Finals.  Same year that Mark Jackson began coaching the Warriors.

It made sense for me to root for OKC, their colors are blue and orange, like the Mets and Broncos.

Then I started really following the local basketball team, a team with some guy named Steph Curry, and Draymond Green.  Jackson said that we all should come down and watch the Warriors play, we’ll have some fun.  I meant to take him up on that.

And then Steve Kerr became the head coach, and they won a Championship.  The following year, they lost in the Finals.

And then my favorite non-Warriors player decided to play for the Warriors.

My only time I saw him in person:

He threw out the first pitch on Star Trek Night at AT&T Park, September 16, 2016.

Every time I saw him at the end of a Warriors victory this season, I *still* couldn’t believe that he was playing for them.

And then he won the Finals MVP.

I teared up when he and his mom embraced on the court.

If anything I’m more happy for Kevin Durant winning a championship and the MVP than anything else.

Congrats, KD.

Tuesday

More ships for Attack Wing came in.  Yay!

I still have a few more ships coming in.  Yikes.

Also, update!

IRW Algeron, D7-class (Romulan)

Sports gaming week overlapped into this week.  I knew a schedule wouldn’t work.

Star Trek Attack Wing has me watching the Star Trek films again.  Not that that’s a bad thing, of course.

Weird not having my usual shows on TV, until Fall.

Friday Off

Took the day to catch up on some stuff.

Ran around doing errands, grocery shopping, found a solitaire wargame at 80% off retail, went to Star Wars Day/Night at AT&T Park.  We actually stayed for the fireworks show.

And now I’m tired and need to go to bed.

Prepare for Battle

Okay, so, the counters have been punched and cards sorted for both B-17 and Alexander games.

Awaiting the large box for Warfighter WWII, should arrive this week.

Re-reading the rules for X-Wing Miniatures for Games night this Saturday.

Reading the rules for Bataan!, Shadow War: Armageddon and a couple of other games.

Deciding to play the next series of games in either the 1917 or 1967 baseball replays.

Picking up Injustice 2 after work today.

Games overload in full effect!
