“We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” – George Bernard Shaw
I’ve never stopped.
In fact, I had the urge to finally pull the trigger on something that seemed to be calling for my attention for the last few months:
A toy rocket.
This one danced in my thoughts and dreams ever since I saw it. It was like the scene at the end of the Firefly episode “Out of Gas”, when Mal saw Serenity for the first time. I just fell in love with the design.
My brain has already named the Intergalactic Space Patrol (ISP) as the space agency that this spacecraft and crew belong to, with Calvin Cruz as the commander, and the plucky sidekick, Wes Watanabe.
The ship itself needs a name. It’s designated ISP-X2 (Intergalactic Space Patrol eXplorer #2) for now.
No one knows the fate of ISP-X1, y’see…
Current plans are to try to find time to do photo sessions with this ship, landing in various locations around the house, and exploring the surroundings.
And then adding captions and dialogue to those pictures.
