Boxing

Title Bout II came in this week.

I’ve had the print-and-play copy of the game on the shelf for a while now, but now that I have the actual game, I want to dig right into it.

I already had my 1967 SF Giants replay set up on my table, so I made sure to finish the current series against the Dodgers before moving on to something else, again.

As mentioned elsewhere, my replay has the Giants with the same record at the All-Star Break as they did in real life.

There’s over 100 boxers (all heavyweights) in the game, and all I know is that my first fight will Muhammad Ali against… someone.

I played another boxing game with Ali vs. Tyson, can’t recall how that one went.

And to be honest, my knowledge of boxers is limited to Ali’s opponents, and a few others throughout history, mainly names mentioned in the barbershop scene in “Coming to America”.

So maybe I’l just have Ali fight Joe Louis.

Stay tuned!

1967: Giants Replay, Game 83

Final from Candlestick Park:

Dodgers take 2 of 3 from the Giants.

At the All-Star break, the San Francisco Giants have a record of 45-38, which is what their real life record was at the actual 1967 All-Star break.

Next up: after the All-Star Game, the Houston Astros come to San Francisco for a 3-game series, followed by the Cubs for 3 games.
