2020: Ted Lasso Finale Replay

I picked up a new copy of Soccer Blast, and the first match I played was the final game of the fictional 2020 Premier League season as shown in the finale of Ted Lasso Season 1.

Final from Nelson Road Stadium:

RIC 1 – 1 MCI

46′ – RIC – Rojas (PK)
88′ – MCI – Tartt

AFC Richmond ties Manchester City, which allows the Greyhounds to stay in the Premier League instead of relegation to the Champions League!

Better result that the other fictional result, sure, and I wonder what Season 2 would have been like with this ending?

Manchester City is mathematically still alive with a draw against Liverpool.

Man City would have to run the table and win out while Liverpool would have to lose out, for Man City to win the championship.

Spoiler: that’s not going to happen.

2019-20 EPL: Week 30

I decided to play out all of the 92 games that the EPL has not played. And I found a nice Excel spreadsheet helper that can track results.

Only takes a couple-few hours to play a dozen or so matches, so I should be caught up by next week.

Liverpool SHOULD have this all tied up after week 32 at the earliest. It’s now a matter of seeing where the next 4-5 teams end up, and who gets relegated.
