Return to SSX

Second Season Express still takes a while to play a game.

Not as long as a regular Second Season game, but still longer than other Express games from PLAAY.

Still, I may try to power through and finally finish the 1967 Denver Broncos season replay this week.

The plan is to finish some of these season replays that have been sitting idle under the full PLAAY games using the Express version, specifically this 1967 Broncos replay, perhaps the 1966-67 NHL replay, and maybe the 1974 John D’Acquisto season replay.

I may start a 1974 fictional Lacrosse season replay once Lacrosse Blast Express arrives.

Stay tuned!

1967 Denver Broncos and Second Season Express

I bought Second Season Express back in 2019, put it in the Second Season game box, and let it sit for about 3 years.

Tonight I finally pulled it back out, after having a nice game with History Maker Baseball Express, and continued my 1967 Denver Broncos season replay.

I should have done this 3 years ago.  Chances are I’d be finished with the replay by the time COVID rolled around in March 2020.

Final from Rice Stadium:

Broncos record: 2-3, which still better than their real-life record at this point in the season (1-4).

Next up: Bills come to Bears Stadium in Denver.

1967: Maple Leafs Replay, Game 1

At last, a hockey replay is underway!

Final from Maple Leaf Gardens:

The penalties feature in this game is weird, in that there’s a letter assigned to a penalty, and all players with that letter get a penalty, but there’s only a single power play per ’round’ of penalties, if that makes sense.  It’s for statistical purposes.

You also assign the penalty type yourself, arbitrarily.

The game is simple enough, and plays fast, which nowadays is a feature that I favor.

Next up: Leafs go to Madison Square Garden for a rematch with the Rangers.

Football Status

So.

I have to get off my ass and get back to what I started 4 years ago, the 1967 replays.

It’ll happen.  Hopefully sooner rather than later.

That 49ers replay may or may not start before Super Bowl LIV.

As for the other type of football:

These replays will get as much attention as I can muster, when not busy/distracted.  I’m less inclined to play the 2008-09 replay due to the fact that Spurs did so poorly that season, and the game engine for Net Results Soccer is slightly different for 2008-09 than from the 2017-18 seasons.  It can get a bit confusing.

Basketball and hockey have never been started, so no need to make a post about either of those sports replays.

Stay tuned!

Ultra Quick Football

Apparently I acquired this game as well, 4 years ago, probably when I was planning out some replays.  I also had the 1980s NFL and 1990s CFL sets.

But like many other games from that time, it went unplayed.

So now I’m going to incorporate this game into my football replays, same as how I plan to do it with Ultra Quick Soccer.

I picked up the “History of the AFL” and NFL 1960s and 1970s sets to cover all the other football season replays that I plan on playing.

New Year, New In Progress Chart

Sure, let’s add the 1947 49ers replay, and put the 1967 Warriors replay back on the schedule.

In Progress, Revision to the Revised Revision of the Revision

The main change is putting the 1967 Warriors on hold, along with the 1988 Mets (revisited) replay.  I anticipate playing a soccer game with PSV soon, and hopefully starting basketball and hockey in the coming weeks.
