2018-19 EFL Teams

I asked one of my British co-workers (Liverpool fan) which team I should replay in Dice United for the Championship/English Football League.

I told him that I was narrowing it down to Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest.

He then told me the story of how he had grown up in a town called Long Eaton, which was equidistant between Nottingham and another place called Derby.

Both towns are where his parents came from, and his grandfather played goal for Derby, before World War II.

My co-worker actually rooted for Nottingham Forest, though he has friends who root for them and for Derby.

Having heard all of this, I decided that I would try to replay both Derby County and Nottingham Forest, if not the entire 2018-19 EFL.

Indecision Intensified

Multiple Game Disorder (MGD) is worse when you play tabletop sports games AND non-sport tabletop solitaire games.

So many sports replays I’d like to continue, but I also wanna terraform Mars or have Ms. Marvel fight Ultron or start playing with my freighter crew or join the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

Among other things.

At least video games are not really in this equation, since my arthritis is making me ‘retire’ from console games.

I know, first world problems.

But all of these are my escape from reality, if just for a little while.

The indecision makes it difficult to unplug from reality.

Ah well.

’21 to ’48

I haven’t touched my 1921 Giants replay in a while, and I recently found out that a new printed set of cards for that season will be coming out from Sideline Strategy.  I have the DIY PDF version.

So I’m putting that replay officially on hold and restarting the 1948 Giants replay.

That 1948 replay was to be hand scored and use fast action cards (FACs) instead of dice.  I’ve since decided to forego hand scoring because of my arthritis, and perhaps do a combination of FACs and dice.

I’ll have it all sorted out this week.  And I’ll go back to the 1921 season once the new cards come out.

MGD Strikes Again

As if I didn’t have enough to play with, this caught my eye today.

It has team cards instead of individual player cards, but appears to have more depth than the other soccer games that I’ve played with just team cards.

The game comes with the 4 top teams from English Premier League’s 2011-2012 season:  Man City, Man U, Arsenal, Spurs.  I ordered the supplemental  set to complete that season.

They offer last season’s English Championship League season set, which I ordered along with the game.

This should be fun.  I liked playing the freebie Quick Fixture game that was offered before this.
