I had played a couple of random games with the PDF printed 1977 teams a few years back, which is why the win-loss record is more than 1 game.
Opening Day, 1977
Final from Dodger Stadium:
The Table Top Sports Games of Chris Saguisag
I’m surprised I didn’t post about this game until now.
Friday Night Legends, a *high school* football game. The game comes with a sampling of Texas high school teams, since the game creators are from Texas.
It doesn’t have individual players, and just 6 plays on offense and 6 plays on defense.
It took me the better part of two and a half weeks to get though one game, but it’s a fun one. I made a few mistakes as one does when trying out a new game.
I randomly picked 2 teams that came with the base game: Sealy 1978 and Kerrville Tivy 2010.
It wasn’t until I looked for graphics for these two teams and saw the significance of them.
Sealy Tigers 1978:
Some running back named Eric Dickerson.
Tivy 2010:
A quarterback named Johnny Manziel
And the results of the game I played reflects these two players.
Sealy Tigers 37
Tivy Antlers 10
Seally scored 5 rushing touchdowns (plus one FG and one missed XP) to Tivy’s 1 passing TD.
Did Dickerson score them all? Maybe. And Johnny Football probably threw that one TD pass.
I didn’t take very good stats, to be honest, But I’ll try to next time I play this game.
Though I should try the college counterpart to this game as well.

Around six years ago I started a league (the Pan-Dimensional Gridball Coalition) for a game called Gridball, which later became GridZone. The game was created by Gary W. Brown.
It was a reimaging of American football, with 7 players on offense and 7 on defense.
I created a few teams based on friends, family, and fictional characters.
I played a couple of games and then went on to other games/leagues.
Mr. Brown has reworked GridZone into a more polished game called GridZone Turf War and I decided to pull out my old teams and order a copy of the new edition.
I’ll probably rework the teams and eliminate the friends and family names, making all the teams consist of fictional characters.
The 8 teams I had created:
And I’ll come up with a better league name.

28 August 2011
Final from White Hart Lane:
Another Own Goal by Spurs.
Actual score: TOT 1:5 MC
Next up: Spurs away at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Stay tuned!
22 August 2011
Final from Old Trafford:
This score is the reverse of the match played on 4 October 2020, where Spurs beat Man U 6-1. Which was the day I replayed this 2011-12 match.
Actual score: MU 3:0 TOT
Next up: Spurs at home vs. Manchester City.
Stay tuned!
Since I tend to play more Dice United than any other of my soccer games, I’m going to start the 2011-12 Tottenham Hotspur English Premier League season.
That season came with the game in the first place, or more specifically, 4 top teams from that season, and the remaining 16 were available as a separate purchase.
My first sample match, Spurs v. Arsenal, which was actually the 6th game of the season, resulted in a 2-nil win for Spurs. I’ll throw that result out and play it in the correct order.
First up for Spurs:
edit: Away against Manchester United.
I see that this is listed as the first played game, but round 2 of the 2011-12 season. Everton was supposed to be the first match, but for some reason it was actually the 20th.
Stay tuned!
