Level Up

Just as good as the AdapTableTop.

Though it’s weird that it’s a bit curved when connected.

The center legs float unless something heavier is placed atop the surface.

This is the same size as the AdapTableTop (2′ x 3′) though I have parts to make a 3′ x 4′ playing surface, which should be more than enough real estate for any game I play, except Star Wars Legion (calls for a 3′ x 6′ play area).

AdapTableTop

This appears to work as well as the StageTop table.

Way less setup and take down time.

The StageTop option certainly looked nicer, but in the end it’s all about usability, which the AdapTableTop has more of, to be totally honest.

The rails on the StageTop looked great, but really served no purpose, other than looking cool.  With AdapTableTop I can have stuff hanging off the edges, like a clipboard or APBA game book, which the rails prevent.

I’ll probably set up the Level Up from Spidermind Games at some point to see how that looks/works.

2012: Stock Car Racing America, Race 17

July 1st, 2012: the Amicable Insurance 500 @ Great Lakes International Raceway.

Race results:

Last race winner Pete MacAtee wrecked during qualifying and failed to make the starting grid.

Dave Lilly dominated most of the race, until he dropped out of the lead and experienced a smoking engine, resulting in a black flag and ending up the last car running.

Despite a DNF (cooling system), Wayne Montana maintains the points lead.

Next: the Brainy Jane 300 @ Midwest Motor Speedway.

Here Comes the Fog!

The San Francisco Fog was a Major Indoor Soccer League franchise which existed for only one season, 1980–1981.

– From Wikipedia

I picked up this shirt from American Retro Apparel, and it sent me on a search for a print-and-play tabletop indoor soccer game that I remember picking up a few years back.

I couldn’t find my printed copy, so I’m going to have to print a new copy of it.

I then went on a search for the schedule for the Fog’s 1980-81 season, to no avail.

So now I figure I’m just going to create a short schedule for the season and play it out with all the teams, not just the Fog.

No idea when this is going to get started.

2012: Stock Car Racing America, Race 16

June 24th, 2012: the Plantation 400 @ Dixie Regional Raceway.

Race results:

Only one DNF in the race, and we’re at the halfway point of the season.

Other news:

  • Vince Moore of the #22 Time Masters Chevy was injured during qualifying and could not race, he should be back for qualifying in the next race.
  • Phil Clooney of the #49 Wayne Enterprises Toyota was hit with sanctions and a 5-point penalty for rules violations.

Current standings:

Wayne Montana stays atop the points lead as the shuffle continues in the next 4 spots due to Pete MacAtee’s win this week.

Next: the Amicable Insurance 500 @ Great Lakes International Raceway.

2018-19: UEFA Champions League

I recently acquired a set of teams for APBA Soccer for the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League.  Instead of replaying the actual schedule, I decided to have an alternate draw for the Round of 16.

Borussia Dortmund v. Roma

Barcelona v. Schalke 04

Paris-Saint Germain v. Athletico Madrid

Porto v. Liverpool

Bayern Munich v. Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester City v. Lyon

Real Madrid v. Ajax

Juventus v. Manchester United

Not sure when I’ll start this one, but the match ups should be interesting.
