2012: Stock Car Racing America, Race 26

First game played in 2024!

September 2nd, 2012: the Good Snips 500 @ Northwest Empire International Raceway.

Prior to the race, Sunny Swayne was suspended for 3 races for illegal modifications to the #42 Megadodo Publications Toyota Camry.

Race results:

Tom Rossi wins his second race of the season.

Current standings:

Wayne Montana and Garry Pyne share the 2nd spot under Stu Yurich in the points race.

Next: the Daily Double Duel at OP @ Ocean Pacific International.

2024 Goals

  • Complete at least one baseball replay (1921/1971)
  • Complete the SCRAM 2012 season
  • Complete a hockey/soccer/football replay
  • Complete the Scott Bullerwell Heavyweight Invitational
  • Start a basketball replay

Lofty goals to be sure, but I’ve been putting shit off long enough.

1950: The NFL

Count on me to pick a season where a third of the teams don’t have a logo.

No logo:
Baltimore Colts
Detroit Lions
Green Bay Packers
New York Yanks

Chicago Bears, Chicago Cardinals, Cleveland Browns

Los Angeles Rams. New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles

Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins
     

This is the first year of the NFL-AAFC merger, which expanded the NFL from 10 to 13 teams.

The new teams were the Colts, Browns, and 49ers.

When I get around to this replay, I may play out the entire league, or just the 49ers.

Baseball

I want to play more tabletop baseball but I take too much time setting up the leagues in BallStat.

I should just handscore the games I play outside of the season replays.

But I use BallStat because my arthritis makes it difficult to handscore these games.

But then I handscore EVERY OTHER SPORT I PLAY ON THE TABLETOP BESIDES BASEBALL.

Not much of an excuse anymore, is it?

Onward and forward into the next year, there’s games to play!

Ultra Quick Sports

I dug out my copies of Ultra Quick Football and Ultra Quick Soccer last week, which then gave me the idea to pick up Ultra Quick Baseball, since it’s supposed to be a way to quickly sim the rest of the games in a single team replay.

I’m going to try it with the 1921 and 1971 season replays that I’m currently playing (though stalled due to my own indifference toward what to play lately).

It’ll probably take as long to sim all the games up to the point where I am in those seasons as it took to play those games.  I hope not.
