And 1937 is ready to go as well.

With Ball Park baseball closing it’s doors at the end of the month, I decided to order on more season from them.
I further decided to order some obscure season that no other table top baseball game company has available.
And I found the inspiration for my selection from a most obscure source.
Yesterday (August 20th) was Jonathan Ke Quan’s birthday. He’s the actor who played Short Round in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
In the movie he wears a 1928 New York Giants ‘Away’ team cap.
So I’m going to get the 1928 MLB season.
And I’ve come up with a new way to run through a season, which I may try with other full seasons that I own.
Instead of replaying one team’s season schedule, I’ll start off the season with the Giants, play the opening series against the Boston Braves, and then the next series I play will be the Boston Braves against their next opponent, followed by the Braves’ opponent against whoever is playing them next.
I’m trying to figure out how to jump leagues, from National to American. Maybe instead of the Braves, the second series should be the Red Sox and their opponent, flipping whenever two teams share a city (Giants/Yankees, Braves/Red Sox, Phillies/Athletics, Cardinals/Browns, Cubs/White Sox).
I’ll have this worked out by the time I get around to this 1928 season. Which will probably be in a few years.

I was looking through one of my game boxes and found that I had the 1979 MLB season for Statis Pro Baseball.
I then checked my BallStat scoring program to see if I had played any games from this season.
Sure enough, I did.
OPENING DAY 1979 FROM RIVERFRONT STADIUM
Great match up, too:
Final from Riverfront Stadium:
Vida Blue pitches a 4-hit shut out.
Taking a cue from my brother, I went ahead and ordered a few individual teams before the company shuts down for good.
At the very least I’ll replay those World Series match ups, and probably create a World Series teams tournament as well.
I was considering ordering another full season, but decided against it after reviewing the planned single team season replays I have, which is about 22 of them. Yikes.

I swear, I spend more time planning and organizing these replay projects than actually playing them.
Though this one was in the planning stages long ago.
Since I was already replaying the Giants season in the year of my birth (1967), along with a full MLB replay from 50 years before that (1917), I had decided that I would, at some point, play out the Giants season replay of the year my Dad was born (1937).
I’m organizing it now, though it’s on the back burner along with a couple dozen other replays.
