Oldest Park in the NL

I was getting the stadium charts ready for the 1917 replay, and counted off 7 of 8 stadiums for the National League, based on the years printed on the charts.  I checked twice, and then realized that the missing stadium was already being used in my 1967 replay, and that I’d be using it for a 2010 replay, should I decide to play the Cubs.

1935 World Series

Wrigley Field opened in 1914, as the home of the Federal League’s Chicago Whales.  The Cubs began play at Wrigley in 1916.  They’ve called the “friendly confines” home since then.

I hope to play a few Opening Day (April 11, 1917) games this weekend.

AL Games:
CLE @ DET
BOS @ NYY
WSH @ PHA
CHW @ SLB

NL Games:
PHI @ BRO
PIT @ CHC
STL @ CIN

The Giants and Braves begin their season on April 12th.

Goals?

I toyed with the idea of setting up a goal of finishing 50% of each of my current projects by the middle of the year.

But then I realized that this could turn this more into a chore than a hobby.

So I’ll make it a not-so-strict goal, with the baseball projects taking priority.

And I still plan to start the 1917 full season replay sometime soon.

Stay tuned!

2017

One of my resolutions for sports gaming IN 2017 is to stop buying new games/seasons, with the exception of History Maker Golf, which goes on sale in a couple of days.

That said, I made one final purchase for my existing games: the 2010 MLB season for Ball Park Baseball.  Amazingly, I had that season in one system, Scoreboard Baseball, which is a quick-play game.

What’s so special about that year, anyway?

Something something something WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS.

Stay tuned!

Game Time

I think 3 weeks since my last game play is long enough.

And it’s been too long since I played with the 1921 Giants, so that’s what’s gonna be on deck for tomorrow, at the earliest.  I’m also itching to get back to the 1967 Giants replay.

What’s weird is that I just checked where I am in the 1921 and 1967 Giants replays, and both teams are playing the Cubs, second game of a series, NY at home, SF away.

Stay tuned!
