The Table Top Sports Games of Chris Saguisag
July 14, 1979: Busch Nashville 420
Race results and current standings:
Richard Petty and Bobby Allison tangled early and often during the race, eventually causing a yellow flag during the waning laps, and taking Wayne Watercutter with them. The result was Darrell Waltrip regaining the points lead.
Your race winner, Dale Earnhardt!
Next up: the Coca-Cola 500 @ Pocono Raceway.

A friend on Facebook posted a list of his top ranked golfers, so I asked him for a foursome of golfers that I could play a round with in History Maker Golf.
I decided to have them play at Augusta (of course) and called it the Inaugural John Price Invitational.
The results:
Amazingly, Bobby Jones birdie’d on the 18th to force a playoff with Ben Hogan.
Which I didn’t play until about a week later.
Jones’ game totally fell apart in the second half.
Congratulations, Ben Hogan, winner of the Inaugural John Price Invitational!
Have an idea for a foursome? Or even a pair of golfers to have me play? Let me know.
Stay tuned!
My brother was right about the rules for Box Seat Baseball: they’re a bit much to get through after one read-through.
Plus I’m distracted by the arrival of other games (sport and non-sport), and I’m trying to fit in a round of golf as suggested by another friend on Facebook.
Hopefully all this will clear by the beginning of next week.
Stay tuned!
I’ve been on a board game kick for the past month, mainly because of a trip to Dice Tower West in Las Vegas, less than a week from the last table top sports game that I played.
That changes this week, of course, what with baseball’s Opening Day in a few days.
Plus I’ll probably get around to the NASCAR and SCRAM racing series that I have running.
And I’ll probably do a boxing match or two in the next week or so.
Stay tuned!
July 4, 1979: Firecracker 400
Race result and current standings:
Richard Petty hangs onto a very slim 4-point lead over Darrell Waltrip.
Your race winner, Terry Labonte!
In real life, Labonte didn’t get his first career win until the 1980 Southern 500 @ Darlington Raceway.
Next: the Busch Nashville 420 @ Nashville Speedway.
Stay tuned!
I’m only halfway into the 1979 Winston Cup season, and I’m already looking at starting the 1989 Winston Cup season, when this guy won the Championship:
The bingo chips are making a difference by reducing the setup/takedown time of the Red White & Blue Racing game.
And truth be told, I need a break from table top baseball after finishing the 1967 San Francisco Giants replay.
Maybe I’ll start 1989 Winston Cup when I’m about three-quarters of the way through the 1979 Winston Cup season replay.
Stay tuned!
