Final from Forbes Field:
The Table Top Sports Games of Chris Saguisag
Baseball resumes tomorrow, July 16th, with a triple-header:
Ball Park Baseball 1971: Game 47, Expos @ Giants
Payoff Pitch Baseball 1921: Game 46, Giants @ Pirates
Inside Pitch 1988, Game 1: Mets @ Expos
I’m replaying the first season replay that I ever attempted, the 1988 New York Mets season, using Inside Pitch. I asked for and got a copy of the latest rules and charts, so I figured that with would be a good time to take that game out for a spin again.
And yes, I plan to get back to the 1917 season soon.
Stay tuned!
Curiosity bit me again, probably because of Olympic fever.
Damn NBC Sports and their Tokyo 2021 commercials.
There’s a games designer named Roberto Chiavini who has a variety of quick-play sports games. His Daring Racers game is a quick, fun game that I’d been playing for a few years.
One sports sim venue that I’ve never tried is the Olympic Games, even just something as simple as the decathlon. Chiavini offers the full Olympics from a given year, with all the events played that year, so I decided to try the 1984 Summer Games from Los Angeles, California.
I should be getting the PDF via email in the next day or so. If I like this one I may get a Winter Games set (1980?) or maybe the 1992 Summer Games.
Stay tuned!
I looked over what I had been playing last year, and I found a couple of replays that I started but never continued, like the 1936 World Series.
I’ll get to that one soon. Heck, I set up a Google Sheet to replay the New Giants 1936 season before I realized that I had played game one of the World Series. So I may do both, backwards, finishing the 1936 World Series and then replaying the Giants 1936 season.
As if I didn’t have enough replays started already.
Incidentally, I also set up the San Francisco Giants 1980 season replay in Google Sheets as well. For reasons.
Stay tuned!
I was browsing a site selling t-shirts of defunct sports teams, and learned that there was a team in the World Football League called the Birmingham Vulcans.
So of course I looked for the team in any team sets available for games that I play.
I learned that they played for one season, or rather part of a season before the league folded.
They were the team with the best record when the league ceased operations, so a bunch of sports writers declared them the champions of that shortened season.
I may replay the entire season, or just the games that were never played.
Stay tuned!
