Basketball

As I have yet to play a basketball game that I already own, it was easy for me to shake off the urge to pick up the new basketball game from Sideline Strategy Games, who also makes Payoff Pitch Baseball.

And I don’t know when I’m going to attempt to play Inside the Paint or Statis-Pro Basketball.

Deadball 1909?

Only 2 of 90 games played in the SFBAL that I created, and I’m already planning on making a second league, based on the Deadball 1909 rules.

The major difference is that it will truly play like the deadball era, with less homers and more squeeze plays and stealing bases and strategy that I usually don’t use.

News Brief

Renovations Coming to PepsiCo Park: The rumored color change will happen soon.  A darker shade of (Pepsi) blue will be the official color of the stadium.  In addition, there will be a few more imaginary skyboxes and seats added to the stadium.  Ticket prices are expected to remain the same.

MGD Strikes Again: Not so much a new game (for Multiple Game Disorder), but the Silverado Golf Course has been ordered for ASG Golf, even though I have the course set in History Maker Golf.

SFBAL Schedule: It appears a 90-game schedule will be played, with the 10 teams playing each other twice.  Schedule particulars will be announced later.

SFBAL Inaugural Game

I’ve decided to make this a 10-team league, with an expansion team coming out of Santa Cruz County: the Santa Cruz Slugs!

I played a game between the Bay City Armadillos and the Daly City Fog.

Final from Serramonte Center:

Now that I’ve played the game I find that it’s a pretty good game engine, more than a quick play game, but less play time than most of the other tabletop baseball games that I’ve tried.  This may simply be a casual play league, with no real organized format or playoffs or even a championship.  Unless I change my mind.
