1966, for reasons.
Just not sure if I want to setup yet another San Francisco Giants replay that I’ll never get to, or the New York Mets, or maybe decide with a 20-sided die, since there were 20 teams in the majors that year.

I looked over what I had been playing last year, and I found a couple of replays that I started but never continued, like the 1936 World Series.
I’ll get to that one soon. Heck, I set up a Google Sheet to replay the New Giants 1936 season before I realized that I had played game one of the World Series. So I may do both, backwards, finishing the 1936 World Series and then replaying the Giants 1936 season.
As if I didn’t have enough replays started already.
Incidentally, I also set up the San Francisco Giants 1980 season replay in Google Sheets as well. For reasons.

I have now played more games (45) in my 1971 San Francisco Giants replay than I’ve played games (44) in my 1921 New York Giants.
I started the 1921 replay 7 years ago.
I started the 1971 replay 2 years ago.
My goal is to finish one of these replays by the end of the year, 50 or 100 years after the given season.
I’ll consider it a bonus if I can finish both replays.
Stay tuned!
When I have time, I’ll play an entire series and post about it.
Though it was about 6 days between playing the first two games.

Final from Candlestick Park:
The Giants win it in extra innings with 2 home runs by Bobby Bonds, including the game winner in the bottom of the 10th. Gaylord Perry goes 10 innings for the complete game win.
Next: the Giants go on the road, first stop is Chicago for a series with the Cubs.

It just occurred to me that my two current Giants season replays are 1971 and 1921.
Fifty and one hundred years ago, and 50 years apart.
Much like the 1967 and 1917 replays, one of which I had finished (1967) and the other (1917), well, I still have over 1200 games to go…
But I think it’s possible to finish one or maybe both ’71 and ’21 replays by year’s end, IF I commit to playing both more often.
We’ll see how it goes.
