Hitting a batter with the bases loaded, which is exactly what Lindy McDaniel did. He plunked Dick Allen with one out and the bases loaded in the bottom of the 12th to hand the win to the Phillies.
The hero for the Mets: Jerry Grote and his go-ahead home run in the bottom of the 8th inning.
