Round 2

With the passing of George Foreman, I watched the “Rumble in the Jungle” last night, which I’m pretty sure we didn’t watch live back in the day, or at least I don’t recall doing that.  I may have watched it when ESPN was doing a marathon of Ali’s greatest fights a few years ago.

It may have been that marathon that prompted me to start playing tabletop boxing games, and creating the Scott Bullerwell Heavyweight Invitational.

This has been on hold for almost 3 years.

One of my tabletop goals from 2024 was to complete this project.

It’s high time I went back to it.

IT’S TIME FOR ROUND TWO OF THE SCOTT BULLERWELL HEAVYWEIGHT INVITATIONAL!

There’s 7 more fights to determine the winner.  I’d like to get a couple of them done this weekend.

Specifically, these two fights:

Especially that second fight, in memory of Foreman.

SBI Fight 4: Klitschko vs. Lewis

“Some say Lewis retired to avoid this fight.” – Scott Bullerwell

If the results of this table top simulation is any indication, Scott was right.

Klitschko knocks out Lewis at 1:38 in the first round.

I meant to start this fight this morning, before going to work, and continue when I got home.  I didn’t think it would be over before finishing the round.

Next up: David Tua vs. Mike Tyson.

Stay tuned!

SBI Fight 3: Dempsey vs. Fury

Fight 3 of the Scott Bullerwell Invitational:

Dempsey knocks out Fury 23 seconds into round 9.

This was a battle.  Fury kept coming back despite the punishment Dempsey was giving him, but Fury’s fatigue got to him as Dempsey finished him off.

The judges gave round 5 to Dempsey despite the fact that Fury had landed more punches.

Next up: Wladimir Kiltschko vs. Lennox Lewis

Stay tuned!
