Qualifying: 2013 Bitty Beer 400

BREAKING NEWS:

Points leader Parnell Jones (engine failure) and previous race (CropMaster Tracktor 300) winner Jordy Pettis (suspension problem) have both failed to qualify for this week’s Bitty Beer 400 at the Southern Super Speedway.

This gives Tom Rossi a chance to take the points lead with a 6th place finish or better.  He starts deep in the field in 36th position.

I conducted the qualifying session for the Bitty Beer 400 before going to bed, and the results surprised me enough that I felt the need to document it immediately.

I don’t believe I’ve ever had both the points leader and previous race winner *not* qualify for the following race.
