December 29th, 1967: premiere date of the Star Trek episode ‘The Trouble with Tribbles’.
Tribbles – purring, fluffy, and fertile creatures – disrupt the exploitation of a disputed planet between the Klingons and Federation.
Definitely one of my favorite episodes. I have a weakness to small furry animals.
We’re introduced to Cyrano Jones (Stanley Adams), and Captain Koloth (William Campbell), who appeared to be acquainted with Captain Kirk. Perhaps he was to be a recurring character.
Campbell also played Trelane in ‘The Squire of Gothos’.
I’ve owned a couple of tribbles over the years, one that shakes when you pet it, and a little plush furball.
I may try to watch this episode later today or this weekend.
