2022 Baseball America

One of the first non-APBA/Stat-O-Matic games that I picked up was History Maker Baseball.

It came out 10 years ago, and as PLAAY Games usually does, they introduced a fictional league for this game called Baseball America.

I opted not to get that league, instead picking up the Century League along with the 2012 MLB season.

As it’s the 10th anniversary of History Maker Baseball, it’s also the 10th anniversary of Baseball America, which they commemorated with a deluxe card set, with bigger cards and names of the teams on the cards.

I picked up the PDF of the standard edition, having recently picked up their new basketball game.

And of course I created my own variation on the fictional league, keeping  most of the existing team names, and retaining the rosters intact.

I took all the unsigned players and distributed them equally among the 12 teams, giving each of them 27 players on their rosters.

Here are the teams!

My additions were Portland, Detroit, Terre Haute, Seattle, and Bay City (San Francisco).

As to when I’ll start up this league?

Highlight Maker Hoops

PLAAY Games came out with a basketball game called Highlight Maker Hoops.

I picked it up along with the fictional Basketball League of America (BLAM) 2021-22 season.

As usual I’ve started by creating a league.  It’s unnamed at the moment, but here are the teams:

Eastern Conferences:
New York Guard
Chicago Express
Cleveland Nets
Boston Commons
St Louis Bombers
Cincinnati Royals

Western Conference:
Denver Dynamos
Tulsa Bandits
San Francisco Pioneers
Phoenix Sunset
Kansas City Knights
Los Angeles Stars

I’m not sure if I’ll keep BLAM league name, but we’ll see.

The Forgotten Games: Bowl-O-Rama

I have an older edition of this game, the newer one appears to come with more bowlers (32 vs 16 in mine) and a bunch of nicer chart boards (as compared to all the charts in the rulebook in mine).

I’m going to give this one a spin for a couple of sessions, if I like playing it enough, I may upgrade to the newer set, and maybe pick up the playmat.

Or maybe just get the playmat.

1960: SCRAM Race #3

About time I got back to this series, and the new playmat from PLAAY games makes me want to run more races anyway.

The Dot Cola 100 @ Dixie Regional Raceway, Southern U.S.

Race results and current standings:

Boyce Daly returns from his 2-race suspension and finished 20th.

Elden Briscoe wins from the pole, leading every lap, and hold on to the points lead.

Next: the Sun Coast Capital 500 @ Sun King Speedway.

Stay tuned!
