2014 World Football Association

And then sometimes you come across stuff that looked like a great idea at the time, but 5 years later you still haven’t done anything with that idea.

This was something I tried to pull together using PLAAY’s 2014 World Football Association card sets.

In my Soccer Blast box, I found three used score sheets, one for an MLS match, one for an EPL match, and one using a pair of pieced together teams from this 2014 set.

One of those teams was the Azkals, the Philippine National Soccer Team.

There were a bunch of cards that came with the set with player ratings, but no names.  I asked the game designer if I could create a team with the unnamed cards, he said it was possible, but they would probably be inferior to the pre-made teams.

So I created the Azkals, with names generated from random lists of Filipino first names and last names.

I didn’t note the score of any of the games, but I recall playing the Azkals and they were defeated by whatever team I put against them.

Perhaps someday I’ll do something with these card sets.

Stay tuned!

In Progress

I have decided that these will be the projects that I will focus on for the time being.
